Is 20% as good as the education discount?

Software only....

There are people complaining about the "charitable" aspect of the MacHeist thing.  No idea whether it's justified criticism or not!  I can't find the link to the complaint right now!

Later, I found it:

I am unfamiliar with MacHeist so won't comment re their relationship with charities. Note: this is done only in the spirit of the season. Normally, I would not let the absence of knowledge interfere with voicing an opinion/comment. rolleyes.gif

But regarding MacSanta, it looks like the proceeds will go to the software developers.

Aside from that, all I know about MacSanta is what's on their site. dntknw.gif

Oh, I'm sorry I brought it up!  sad.gif

In other news MacAppaDay has overreached the bounds allowed on it's host server and it's looking for a host through the holidays!

I removed my post from this thread and started a new one. It seemed to be changing the subject. http://www.techsurvivors.net/forums/index....t=0#entry114011

hehehe I may have to borrow these words. hehehe

Thanks for the link. Several things there I'm going to check into. I notice that BareBones is offering a discount on BBEdit. Great opportunity for those who don't yet have this great program.

I still found the BBEdit too expensive. I am very happy with their free TextWrangler.

It's a good time to buy Yojimbo. It's a great software, and I wrote a number of entries on my MacCentre701 about it. (I bought Yojimbo when it first came out.)

Well, if you have been thinking about getting 2 or more of the 10 listed application in MacHeist, it's still a good idea to buy it from there. US$ 49 for applications value up to $356.74 is a good deal to me.

As for their claimed "25% donation" to charities, well, I don't really care if they do so or not.

Unfortunately, the promotion at MacHeist is now over - it ended this past weekend.

104 companies as of the wee hours this morning. I picked up RapidWeaver, ColorSchemer, WindowShade and some Tetris game for Sneakers. I'm mulling over 3 other items.

What did the rest of you get?
