Just finished reading a book of short stories (NOT my usual fare) compiled by James Patterson, and it had a few of my favorite authors, but added a whole bunch to my list of "must check out"s!

Also, although I'm not much of a non-fiction reader, I just finished reading Lee Iacocca's new book called, "Where Have All The Leaders Gone?", and I think this book should be required reading for ALL politicians, and all high school kids.  He's very down to earth, easy to understand, and is written in a conversational form, and the guy truly is BRILLIANT!  Short book, and I can almost guarantee that you'll be telling your friends about it!

I'm not krissel, but ... I've read/tried several of those authors. Many I didn't care for, but those that I did like from your list:

James Rollins
Fantastic author. I prefer his stand-alone books -- particularly "Map of Bones" and "Ice Hunt". His "Sigma-Force" series is decent. His books are well paced and filled with action. He's also a super nice guy, and takes time to answer email from folks.

Brad Thorn - (sure this isn't Brad THOR?) If so, he's a great author - political thrillers that involve Navy SEALS and such. Fast paced - real page turners that I find hard to put down.

James Grippando - good author, compelling stories with a good pace.

Jeffery Deaver's "The Blue Nowhere" and "The Devil's Teardrop" are both interesting.
I've never been able to read any of his other books - too gruesome.
