Monitor slow to wake up in 10.13.6
« on: July 19, 2018, 03:50:41 PM »
Since installing 10.13.6, my monitor is sloooow to wake up. I can hear the HD working, and after a good 10-20 seconds, the monitor will finally come to life. Apparently I’m not alone, although that doesn't really provide much comfort. ;)

Here's what I did (which is almost exactly what the first poster did):
  • Checked "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" which did not clear the issue; then unchecked (which is what I originally had set.
  • Reset SMC which did not clear the issue.
  • Reset PRAM/NVRAM which did not clear the issue.

I'll be filing a report with Apple.

I see the same thing, but it started in 10.13.5. I can get the monitor to wake immediately if I press the power button instead of a key or mouse.

How do I file a report with Apple? When I try the appropriate bookmark (the only one that I have), I get to this page. I did, however, respond in the Apple Discussion about this issue.
