I'll hazard a guess (be interested to see if it's anywhere near right

) that it IS a tag, probably part of some EU regulation to keep records of breeding.

Edit: Couldn't agree more with Kimmer. Many of your shots really are breathtaking, capturing the big skies and fantastic light that seems almost commonplace up there. Today down here it's raining... Again... As it has been for days
