What, none of you people are listening to Julie London?
All the best/æ
Coincidence time - hadn't heard of Julie London for years until a biography turned up on our BBC4 TV channel at the weekend, and now her name crops up again. My wife (still getting used to calling her that!) couldn't place her even after I mentioned her biggest UK hit, "Cry Me a River" - only when it started playing, then she recognised it. But she is 10 years younger than me
At present playing "Dusty (Springfield) in Memphis" - very pleasant to help wind down the day...
...says the "scratchy" sound is interesting, what ever that means!

And what was your reaction as you bought 45s and LPs and heard your parents playing their old 78s? . Mind you, my dad was more than happy to get an LP to replace a symphony divided into six 12in 78s on an autochange player.
