Calendar count down (actually up)
« on: July 05, 2020, 06:38:37 PM »
Not sure if this is possible, but I want to set a repeating weekly event in Calendar that changes the number by one each week.

Currently I have an event every Saturday that says: End week #. Started with 1, now on 16. I have to set up each event manually, but it would be grand to make it a repeating event that automatically changes like this:
  • End week 1
  • End week 2
  • End week 3
  • Etc.

Anyone know if this is possible? Or do I keep manually entering this event?

Have you tried setting up an AppleScript or an Automator script?
There is a built-in group of Calendar "Events" including "New Calendar Event".

You can copy & paste, but you'd still have to edit the number.

Rather than typing, have you tried using Siri?

Lastly, I've heard good reviews of Fantasical. However the free version may not include the function you're looking for, assuming it even exists in the paid app. :dntknw: And there is also Google Calendars...

And the United States = The Banana system

I haven't, and wasn't aware that these scripts existed. I'll go searching. Thanks.

This is pretty much what I do, only on my iMac, I can drag/drop and edit. ;)

No. No. No. She and I are like oil and water.

I'll look at them, but I prefer Calendar as it works across all my Apple gadgets.

Thanks for the help.

I fear that your need may be too rare in the Calendar user world and may not have been imagined by the developers. Cases like this are sometimes the impetus for learning new capabilities! Many of us currently have much more time for learning new skills... :whistling:
