You can check haveibeenpwned.com to see if your info is in the latest batch. But, why worry, this batch of info is about average compared to other FB losses/hacks. "Trust us!" :laughhard: BTW, I have a nice bridge you can buy cheap... :wallbash: :coolio:

My info was involved, so once again I had 1Password give me a new password. When I logged back in to FB, I found I was once again a member of some groups that I'd left this past year, I had friends that I'd removed this past October, and I was "following" pages I'd unfollowed. It was as though I'd gone back in time.

I plan on joining FRANK when it opens up, and if it works, I'll leave FB.

I noticed that the penned site is offering a 20% (?) discount for 1PW. I already own that as a Family but that site is handy for checking addy’s that can then be cross checked with 1PW change those passwords. We will always have hacks and our email addresses stolen but it is becoming easier to reset passwords. If I had many friends I can see how it would be temping to use something like FB. Until I need more than ten fingers to count my friends, emails (with third-party images blocked and SpamSieve installed) is sufficient. It just amazes me at how unaware some of our older are about security. Then there are the young who claim privacy is never needed. :coolio:

"FRANK" has been around since 2003. Hope you find it useful with your problem.

Interesting, it says the last time I was pwned was back in 2019.

So, I'm assuming that 1PW is taking good care of me. :whistling: :dntknw:

Never used it, though the missus does. My last employer (I retired in 2006) instructed everyone to sign up to FB, which I did but naturally used my workplace email, so it 'died' when I left, or so I thought. However, apparently it doesn't die since FB occasionally pops my name on her screen asking if she'd like me as a friend.

What!! We're married...  :D :whistling:

Checked and I haven't been pwned.

What is Frank? I tried Googling it and got nada. There are various alternatives to FB out there, some of which look great...but couldn't find anything called "Frank"....and frank.com took me to a bitcoin site, LOL.

No, your info never "dies". Even when you "Cancel" an account, they tell you that it is only canceled if you never sign in again. If you mentioned anything about your life, it's still there and they will continue to offer you as a "friend" to some one.

I may be a bit 'rusty' on he wording, it was decades ago when I tried to "cancel". But the text made a deep impression on my disgust for their "privacy" policy even back then. I'm sure the vast majority of folks think they are a free service.

The phrase was in use by the 1930s, but its first appearance is unknown.
Just as American bars offered high-salt food for anyone who bought a beer, these "serives" create larger and larger 'appetites' for the 'service' (which is collecting info from as many folks as possible and selling it, of course).

"Frank" is a planned 'social' site by Mike Lindell (Mr. Pillow). :coolio:
I can only assume that is a word created from the first letters of a five word phrase which I will only reveal in a PM. :WOW:
