Looks like I may need to concede to those TSers whose third-party experiences are more recent than mine. If you are happy, so am I.

Best regards!

My own experience with refilled/remanufactured ink and toner cartridges has been dismal. Back when I was doing computer sales and service, my clients also discovered that any monetary savings were negated by spoiled copies and the expense of service calls. Reminds me of an old country song which says: "sometimes the pleasure ain't worth the pain." STICK WITH FACTORY NEW!

Jon, I respectfully cast a dissenting vote. I felt exploited by the unions of which I was a member in my younger years.

A student told her professor, "If I were drowning, I would want you to come to my rescue."
Prof replied, "Why me?"
Student: "Because you can go down deeper, and stay down longer, and come up drier than anyone else I know!"

I agree we should help the Ukrainian people all we can. I have a nephew who went to Ukraine several years ago with a group from his church to do repairs on church buildings and some private homes. He came home with a bride. The two of them went back later and adopted two children from an orphanage. Last week my daughter put me in touch with some people in Poland who are helping Ukrainian refugees. They are now on my charities list. Opportunities abound, both here and abroad, to bless others and to be blessed by giving to humanitarian causes. But please, as Jim suggests, "Investigate before you invest."

I want to install Big Sur 11.6.1 on an external drive, but I cannot find it in the Apple Store. Where can I get it?

I used both for a few years. Settled on CCCloner, mostly because of its speed. Have not tried the new SD.

My friend collects mining royalties from people who find meteorite fragments on his farm.

A friend of mine lives in Kiowa County, Kansas. Meteorite hunters often visit his farm. The Pratt Tribune (newspaper) carried this headline on March 30, 2021: "A 320-pound rock found in rural Kansas in 2006 came from outer space. It just sold for $156,250."

Tech / Re: What printer do you use?
« on: October 13, 2021, 03:03:53 PM »
My everyday printer is a 20-year-old HP LaserJet 1012 that has never had any problems and still does excellent work (though I admit is is slow). When I need color or two-sided printing or copying capability, my HP Envy 5540 serves quite well. I keep it cabled. When I set it for wireless, my neighbor's work sometimes comes out on my printer even when Printer Sharing is turned off.

I always buy OEM cartridges. My experience with third-party, refilled, and "remanufactured" cartridges has been dismal. Your mileage may vary.

I can find no words to express what I am feeling right now. My heart hurts. Not only for this event, but for the all-too-many similar occurrences we hear about almost daily. This one hits very close to home for me, too. My granddaughter who used to teach in Byhalia is now teaching in Memphis. I know the TS rule about religion, but I want to say "God, help us all!"
