"Statistically" speaking...
« on: December 03, 2020, 02:46:44 PM »
:WOW: Five syllables!!
Actual statistics are pointing to the US reaching at least 300,000 deaths by the end of the year. This virus has absolutely no concern for out politics, economic status, ethnic origins nor whether we believe experts or not. :whistling:

According to the Center for Public Integrity, "Forty-seven states and the district of Columbia were in the red zone for new cases" as of the weekly report. "Statistically" that is "quite a bit", a majority, even! :coolio:

Note, however, none of the coming crop of vaccines will stop this virus! :no2:

What will stop the virus is a very large majority of us getting the vaccine into our body! :whistling: I am seriously concerned that too many of us cannot even take the simplest of steps to protect ourselves and our families by following the three extremely easy steps given by the vast majority of medical experts; wash your hands often*, cover your mouth and nose with a mask, and avoid close contact with others, especially those outside your family.

* Do you really know how to wash your hands?
I'm betting that the majority of us don't get under our fingernails. I find the thumbnail is best for getting under the fingernails of the opposite hand. Use any fingernail nail can get under the thumbnail on the opposite hand. Takes an extra ~10 seconds...

BTW, "anti-bacterial" soaps are not needed. First, this is a virus, not a bacteria. Second, continued, wide-spread use of these antibiotics simply encourages drug-resistent bacteria to develop!

Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

More "Statistics":Covid States Project
Quote
...the states that have had the lowest levels of social distancing behavior and mask wearing are currently suffering the worst outbreaks
Quote
...reports of having been in a room with people who are not members of the household in the preceding 24 hours jumping from 26% in April to 45% in October. Large group activities have particularly jumped in frequency. Reports of being in groups of 11 to 100 or more in the preceding 24 hours more than doubled, from 2.4% of respondents in April to 6.4% in October
There is some good news, however:
Quote
We also find that adherence to health recommendations to reduce the spread of COVID- 19 -- with one important exception -- has steadily dropped since April. Adherence to four CDC recommended behaviors (avoiding contact with others; avoiding public/crowded places; frequently washing hands; disinfecting surfaces) all reached their all-time lows in October (see Figure 4). The one important exception is mask wearing: this behavior steadily increased through the end of August, and has held steady since then, with about 77% reporting very closely adhering to recommendations to wear masks in November.
