I've always wanted to try a Buttermilk Pie. Anyone else ever tasted one?

--I used the 'net to search for the recipe.
--I will use a digital scale to weigh the ingredients.
--I will use my oven, which has computer controlled buttons, to bake said pie.
--I will then eat and enjoy, while I stream a movie on my smart TV.
--I will stop using lists on this boards software.

I keep removing, and then saving/posting, that final "end list" code, and it keeps reappearing. I give up.

Maybe we need a refresher class on the more rarely used formatting options? This forum, like most, simply uses the normal html tags for formatting plain text into a list. You just have to replace the html tag delimiters ("<" and ">") with the form tag delimiters ("[" and "]"). You don't even need the normal list item tags (li and /li), unless you want dots or numbers at the beginning of each list item. A text replacing app (Text Expander, Typinator, etc.) is great for saving the manual typing of required tags, even in Quick Reply. Or just use the format buttons in the full editing panel. Preview provides a quick check that all is correct, of course.

Thanks, xABD. I know the code, (and about preview) but find this board software a bit ... touchy ... when it comes to making lists; and once you make a mistake, it's absolutely unforgiving -- thus the odd bit of code in my post that I can't remove.

The only thing that appears "odd" to me is that you have a quote nested inside the list. I've seen problems with doing things like that. Same problem occurs when nesting things in any programming method.  :wallbash: The very simple text 'editor' in most forum software doesn't usually offer much help in that sort of thing. It's all up to the poster to match the tag pairs correctly.

I could do it for you but I learn better by doing rather than by reading/hearing, so I'll let you do it yourself. :) Just remove the quote from within the list. Probably best to put the quote at the beginning of the post.

I suspect you are using the formatting buttons after you've written the basic post. The formatting is so simple I find it usually quicker to just type the tags in where i want them as I'm writing the post. That way I don't have to be so careful about where and what I select with the mouse/track pad.

Well, it didn't start out that way. I've fixed it.

My sister-in-law in Texas (sadly, now deceased) served buttermilk pie once. As I remember, it was delicious. I have no idea what the technical specifications were.

I own the sweatshirt with this saying: I ate some pi and it was delicious (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=i+ate+some+pi+and+it+was+delicious&t=osx&iax=images&ia=images&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fres.cloudinary.com%2Fteepublic%2Fimage%2Fprivate%2Fs--bw_Dm8uW--%2Ft_Preview%2Ft_watermark_lock%2Fb_rgb%3A191919%2Cc_lpad%2Cf_jpg%2Ch_630%2Cq_90%2Cw_1200%2Fv1596534543%2Fproduction%2Fdesigns%2F12786220_0.jpg)
