Thanks!
It may be OS specific.

LiveWire has some info for those using Chrome and/or Firefox

You might want to check the capabilities of adding fields to Contact pages that might be useful in specific sites if you are helping people. (Care-giving for a person my adding some life details in their Contact Card [/Card/Add Field]. ie; Maiden Name, Job Title, Related Name, etc.)

Flying is a serious business! Lots of training/testing/check rides/reports/physicals every six months, etc. etc. Any of those things can mean you've just flown your last trip... ever! 😱👎

Here is just one example of how serious things can be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGYN9EY7Kf0

Great! Thanx for the follow-up! I'm always happy when our members fix "some things"! :laughhard:
Signing back in (to what you should and the system should already know about) is often a quick fix for "some things". :p
Sometimes a simple (as opposed to a COMplicat-ed) Restart helps to slap the OS up-side-the-head!
Sometimes plugging in the monitor cures the 'blank/black screen' problem. Apple fixed that by including a built-in monitor for the iMac. :wallbash:
And now, back to the required forum topic: "We need Some Humor"  :thanx:

Only question I can answer is your last one.
I get a new iPhone once the one I have cannot do what I want it to do or every ~8 years, whichever comes first. So far, I've had two a 6 and a 13mini.

Trying to remember the main differences between POP and IMAP. One that I seem to remember is that POP downloads to your machine AND removes it from their server at the same time. On the other hand, IMAP needs to note and complete your delete request from every device you have it accessible. That could take time and is a measure of safety. "It's not a bug, it's a feature"... whether you like it or not! :wallbash:

I would assume that the text changes from "Delete" to "Undelete" so you can decide you made a mizteak. And as long as l'm in the assuming mode(!), I assume that if you now select another email, the button reverts to "Delete". :dntknw: If I'm wrong, just blame the "assumption" code!

Jon: "[didn't] change anything, except to take an inordinate amount of time." Yeah, most people only use that item once... unless their memory fades a bit. :whistling:

It could be that we don't always see an immediate delete/change because that task is assigned a low priority. If the computer/app is busy at something else, that task just has to wait a bit.

As for the "Delete" changing to "Un...", that was a UI groups call:
1 Lie to the user. It's not nice to fool folks into thinking things are happening faster that they actually are. Maybe show a progress bar? (Marketing prolly won't like that!)
2 Wait for task completion and make things look like the computer/app is not working or slow? I thought that's what the spinning pizza was for. :wallbash:

Of course there is a teeny, tiny possibility that there is some kynd uv erer in the coad. :dntknw:

John, we are sending you a bill for violating one of the sites (unwritten [even hidden] ) rules. You are not allowed to answer your own questions within 23 hours of posting the question. :nono: This has led to many members actually searching the web and sometimes OS preferences/settings and gaining new insights into the wonders of Apple's cleverness. :dntknw:

We would also like to publicly thank you for being one of the few members actually offering simple and effective answers to questions. I have asked that your "Payment for Correct Answers" be raised to the next higher level. Enjoy the extra cache!!

Don’t know about the why of size differences. But you might be able to send via iCloud or Mail Drop. Dropbox is also a (free trial) solution.

Try checking the box "Use fixed-width font for plain text messages". Those will then use whatever choice you have selected (currently Menlo Regular 11) instead of some font the OS doesn't have installed. :dntknw:

You also might try 'standard' sizes; 10 or 12 instead of 11. At 82, I have no need for tiny font sizes! :p :blush-anim-cl:

« on: July 10, 2025, 07:44:32 PM »
Search the webs using something like like "Sell my laptop". I sold an old iPad for cash.

You will probably find a site that has you fill out a form describing your device and it's physical condition. Be honest. After that, they may offer you a price. If you choose to accept the offer, you will only be paid after they receive the device to confirm it works (if you claimed it does) and it's condition.

They may decide that your description was not accurate. They may then offer you a reduced price. You then have to choose between accepting the new price or pay to have the device shipped back to you.

Be sure to understand the whole process.

Two possibilities:
1. Copy and Paste
   a. Copy the text of the message
   b. Paste that into a TextEdit page
   c. Hopefully that will enable you to read the message
2. Open the message in your ISP web mail site (iCloud/GoogleMail/Mindspring.com/etc.)

If you are able, ask the sender what font they used. You may then be able to install a (free) Mac version. If there is none or if it costs too much, ask if the sender can use a different, more common font.

A web search gives me 10 video’s. Perhaps one of those will be a slower speaker. Of course, the search provides about a dozen web pages with text instead of video, so those could be easier to get a grasp of what you need to do in installing OCLP.

In your situation (no macOS and no OS backup ) what do you have to lose? Try OCLP and hope for the best. Please let us know how the whole operation goes! :D :thanx:
