2006 / Greedy Apps

Just noticed my iBook is running out of space again.

I have my external Hard Drive and I keep my iTunes on that.  I have used WHatSize and find:-

18.1GB Users (I am the only user)
10.3 GB Library
7.10 GB  Applications


Just noticed 4.98 GB Application Support
2.49 GB Audio
1.62 GB Printers (only have one printer)

How can I free up (safely) some space?

2006 / Problem with internet since downloading latest OS

Since I downloaded OS 10.4.7, my modem dials up of its own accord to connect with the internet.

It also does this at a drop of a hat when I open any app.  Why is this?  I find it rather irritating.  How can I stop it?

2006 / iTunes - HELP!

Made a big mistake - threw iTunes app away for some wierd reason!  Stupid, stupid me!

Anyway, got a version of iTunes from my OS disks and it is iTunes 4.something.  Downloaded iTunes 6.02 but it will not install saying I already have a version (god knows where).

1.   How do I get it to listen to the new download and let me install that?

Also, now only got iTunes library on iPod.  

2.    How do I move iPod library to iTunes including playlists?  Tried a few apps but got nowhere.  If you know, please can I have a step-by-step method.

Sorry for stupidity.

I promise never to touch any application ever again.  I am not qualified.

Apple forced the maker to remove it and never distribute it again - miserable bunch.

2006 / iDVD

Ever since I updated to iLife 06, my iDVD buttons on the themes wont let me choose different ones. It also won't let me move the film about the main screen although it says it is "free positioning". Rather wish I hadn't updated now.

Also, if you try out other themes, it loses the original downloaded film and denies all knowledge of its existence.

I want my old iDVD back? Where will I find it on the install disks?

Any ideas?

2006 / My iBook went red, green, blue, grey, black and then off

Well, as the topic suggests, my iBook's screen, while using iDVD for the BIG PROJECT, went blue, red, green, grey, black and then off.

Has this happened to anyone else.  I looked it up on the iBook G4 discussion page on Apple site and saw the words "logic board" so now I am very worried.  The iBook is not a year old (present from Mr Jobs) and this will be the second logic board in my life.

I back up every evening now and am very worried.

I have reset PMU and PRAM and done Onyx, TechTools, repaired permissions, Apple Hardware test - all showed nothing.

I tried looking on Console but it had cleared everything before and I couldn't see any clues.
