Weirdness in Mail . .
« on: September 15, 2019, 01:48:13 PM »
I'm using Mojave 10.14.5 on an MB Pro, and awhile ago, sometimes when I click on a piece of mail in my inbox, the page will display, but there's no content showing in the body. . . If I double click on the piece of mail, it will open, but in a separate window!  :wallbash:  Anybody have any ideas on how to correct this?  As usual,  :thanx: in advance!

I have experienced that very issue, with High Sierra. Discovered that if I just bide my time for a few seconds the page eventually loads.  Not a clue as to WHY. :no2: :no2: and not every e mail.

Thanks, Daryl; I guess it's good to know that I'm not “The Lone Ranger” in this, and you’re right. . . It only happens occasionally.

I had this happen just last week. Never got anything to display and decided to just dump the Windows-using sender's 'message'. :dntknw:

When this happens, is there a "Load remote content" button in the message Preview or window?
What do you have set in Mail->Prefs->Viewing?
How about Mail->Prefs->General?
Lastly, Mail->Prefs->Junk?

Congratulations!

No, I've seen that button before, Jim, but it's been absent when this happens.

Another possibility is that it's javascript which I always try to block in Safari. I would assume that an 'html' email would still be using Webkit for display, but not sure Safari prefs would be effective. :dntknw: The few that I've got have been from one particular Windows users and are hardly ever worth wasting electrons on! :blush:
