My E Mac's Disk Utility stopped working today.
I ran ToolTech. Things are fine there.
What is happening is that Disk Utility runs part way. Then I get the message Disk Utility has lost connection w/ Disk Managment Tool.
This one has me stumped. Hope someone here can give me some pointers.

I ran DiskWarrior. TechTool found nothing. But DiskWarrior found what follows.
( There is not enough freedisk space to perform a failsafe replacement of the direcrory. Do you want to continue and place the new directory direclly over the original directory? )
DiskWarrior goes on to say.

What to do now?

You may gain a significant amount (50 MB+) of HD space by running DeLocalizer or Monolingual

Thank you. I ran Delocalizer. Got rid of 712Mb's and I now have 4.4 Gigs.

Correction: I'm not running OS X 4.3.9.
I'm running 10.3.4. Panther! Also: This came up while trying to run Disk Utility:

DiskManagementTool has died. Disk Utility will need to be restarted.

I rebilt. Plus reinstalled 10.3.9 panther.

Another thing I would do is get a bigger internal HD pronto because Delocalizer is only a temporary fix. Either a new internal HD or a big external HD where you can move all your stuff to make room so the system can run in a healthy way. OS X needs room to fix itself and do the maintenance. I can't remember the minimum free disk space needed in percentage off of my head right now though.
