Title: Airport, OS 9 and WEP
Post by: cdub1988 on July 03, 2006, 03:15:52 PM
Been awhile, but I need you all's help again.

I haven't touched a Mac for some time and need to configure an older iMac DV (methinks it's running 9.0.4) using Airport to connect to a Belkin b router using WEP......it's really a must, so if I can't configure Airport with WEP, can someone give me a tip about where to look for third party stuff perhaps?

I don't think upgrading is an option at this point.....and I'm trying to encourage them to at least use WEP.

TIA, all.

Chris

Not sure if it's the solution, but it looks like just from googling that the wep key in ASCII has to be preceded by $......

Gonna try that one out when I get the chance.

Any other experiences are welcomed....

Thanks.

Yeah, but how do you know where to send the money?  coolio.gif

Seriously, the one time I messed around w/ WEP on my Airport Express, I do recall it being VERY particular about its passwords.
