Title: Speaking of recalls
Post by: Xairbusdriver on August 24, 2006, 04:00:37 PM
I couldn't help but be reminded of Frances when I heard about the Irishman who threatened to walk 156 miles to the nearest Apple repair Centre. He claimed that would be faster than waiting for Apple to make good on its promise to replace his G5 iMac. Apple made <"amends"> ", I guess. Not sure I'd want the hassle of the Intel processor and the pain of updating everything...

Anyway, this is one of the tamer discussions at ars; some comments are very amusing, even! smile.gif

It could've been worse if it was an eMAC he was going to strap on his back and hike with all those miles!  I've now had 5 out of 85 iMAC G5's fail (all but one were completely gone, the one had stripes down the display).  Luckily we've got 3 year Applecares on these!

Maybe I'm going nuts, but wasn't there a post on here about the latest Battery Recall?.... where did it go?

One of the comments suggested that if he'd had a Dell, he would have had to walk back from the repair station, also! Another one suggested that on the way, he might have worn a hole in his Nikes and decided to walk to the Nike repair station only to get a hernia on the way and become disoriented because of not knowing who to sue first and how to reach the closest solicitor! harhar.gif
