This is a picture of a Hummingbird Hawkmoth and it is on Janerc's photostream at Flickr:

This was apparently taken in Great Britain but we have similar moths here in Kansas. I've never been able to get a good picture of one because they're very fast!

AWESOME PICTURE
how did you find that gunug?

We do see them occasionally around here too, we call them a Hummingbird moth.
I have a wonderful picture of one, and a huge picture of a tomato worm, they are part of my screen saver. So anyone hanging out in my computer room gets an eye full of close up insects,,,,,,,,
Weve got a lot of hummingbirds at the moment, and the evenings are getting under 70 degrees lately, so assume that they will be leaving us for the warm south soon.
We sure will miss the little 'copters,

Great shot. Never seen of those guys. Getting cooler here and the hummers are getting fewer and fewer

I thought that maybe we would be going to the Lake of Ozarks again next weekend but it's starting to look like we won't. It's still pretty warm here so maybe the real hummingbirds would still be around down there.

Nice picture. Haven't seen the hummingbirds in Mom and Dad's yard this time, but I haven't stopped to watch for them. Maybe I should do that tomorrow. Mom isn't here to fill the feeders anymore. The hummingbirds will miss her too.
