Title: Apple asked to intercede in China

Great, I thought about slipping this story into TS (at least I don't think I did) but thought it was kind of old news that workers in China "might" not be treated fairly and that the people with ties to Apple (stock and such) would probably have already heard about it. This is probably a much bigger story than just iPods because Foxconn components are in practically every computer I ever work on.
I guess I didn't know that you did this sort of thing. Good luck with it!

The 'new' part of this is that the Chinese are placing sanctions on the reporters for exposing the story. The company that produces the iPods is suing the journalists for defamation. It's Apple's chance to stand up for freedom of speech. Google and Microsoft have danced around these kinds of issues recently. Let's see what Apple does.

I thought, at 4am or so this morning that you were saying that "you" were asked to intercede in China! I had gotten up to take a antihistimine and should never have responded to "any" posting.
