Title: OT: Hello from Sedona
Post by: Jack W on February 27, 2007, 09:33:57 PM
Here are a couple of pictures I took on a hike yesterday and another from a couple of days ago.

The first — I was in the right place at the right time on the Jim Thomson trail.

From a couple of days ago on the Fay Canyon trail:

Check out the blue skies, a little different than NE Ohio this time of year (or any time of year for that matter!

Very nice shots, Jack.   thumbup.gif

I have a goodly collection of photos of the southwest, but few of Sedona.  I have been there three times since 2000, and everytime it has been raining and windy.  rant.gif

If I'm ever to get to ride in one of those Pink Jeeps, guess I'll have to visit at a different time of the year.   dntknw.gif

Beautiful.

The first one looks like an abstract Mt. Rushmore with the main head on the left and a bunch of committee members on the right.

Wow Jack, it's just like my grandma's Arizona Highways magazines!  You've got a good eye and a good camera!

Gunug,

Good eye, no, but much better since cataract surgery in both. Close to 20/20 with glasses. Well, I guess that's not too bad for a member of the OFC.

Good camera, yes, a Canon S2 IS.

But, best of all, excellent subject matter!

Hiking out here is fantastic to  say the least. Many many miles of trails from easy to difficult. I stick with the easy to moderate ones. But some year, I want to hike to the top of Mount Wilson, very difficult; or Bear Mountain, moderately difficult. Maybe this year on Bear Mountain.

Only been there once. Beautiful area, as your pictures attest. My wife had an Aunt & Uncle who lived in "The Villages of Oak Creek". Judy identified the location, immediately! The gentleman played was on the links at least three times a week until near the end! Quite a change from where he was born/raised—the flat lands of eastern Arkansas! Just a little more scenic, also! tongue.gif

thanx.gif   Beautiful pictures.  Brings back such memories.  This is one reason I love the western part of the US - places like Sedona, Zion, Yosemite, Bryce...  My husband and I visited most of the western National Parks and took some hikes also.

Makes me long for (or pine for) being out west. I only had 5 years in Colorado before coming back closer to family. Loved it out there!

Or alternatively, if you really insist, more like Mt Rorshach!   toothgrin.gif
