I'v already had phone calls from contractors I used to inspect, who want me to go to work for them; while lucrative, I simply don't want (at this point) to budge from this seat! I have a can of beer and a cigarette (sorry, non-smokers), and I am loving it!

I retired in May and hadn't even left before getting 'invitations to help out' as freelance. Now doing a regular three days at a local paper office just two miles away and thoroughly enjoying it. Far less stressed, partly because I know don't HAVE to work. I'm choosing to. Makes one helluva difference. Enjoy your time off, Sokukodo, but might be worth keeping in touch with people. You may actually get bored sitting around

Reminds me of the story of a young Ronald Reagan who couldn't decide if the shoemaker should craft square or round toes for his new pair of custom made shoes. After asking for a decision several times and not getting one, the shoemaker told Reagan the shoes would be ready in a few days. When he went to pick them up, he had one square toed shoe and one round toed shoe. The shoemaker told him, "If you don't make your own decisions, someone will make them for you."

Yes, we kayaked all day, and in our cooler were a couple of Sam Adams along with our sandwiches, no cigs though, non-smokers we are.
You can do what you want When you want, the 'when' is the best.
Off to Maine and NH and VT again soon too.
