High Speed Internet Time Warner Road Runner has made my Netscape 7.0 obsolete. I am limping along on OS 9.1 and IE 5.0 - - - life was better with Netscape 7.0 but my cable provider won't even boot me up in Netscape - - - IE 5.0 still works but lacks major firewalls - and Microsoft has orphaned 9.1 and 9.2 as well. Cant go beyond 9.2 on this box
Does anyone know of any work arounds for 'pre' 10X? (Mozilla Firefox is not an option for my OS (9+)

Nav 9 will not download to my OS 9+. Must have 10X to do so Flash 296. But thanks for the assistance.
I'm doubtful that anything exists these days.

IE was the only full service browser when I used os9.

Thanks. TS has always been an in-depth site for my needs. I'll check into everyting mentioned. Not too nuts about hooking up with the "icab outfit" - it's based in Germany ((not that I'm predjudiced - my wife is from Germany and we go there frequently). It's just that everytime I send e-mails or check out "".de"" sites - - - I get scooped up into all kinds of unwanted porno junk from Europe - - - got so bad I had to change my e-address.

Here's how it is with our local TimeWarner Cable TV - HS Internet and -digital phone service - - - - - - It's ID'd as an ""All-In-One" package. Really and truly, it's the best thing we have. Could not live without the service. Only problem is t he """AOL""" factor. When they say it's time for Mac'ers with 9.1 to go - we have little choice. I'm thinking that even thou I select a browser of my choice - It seems to be governed by AOL through my TW cable service.
Am I right in this assumption??? If so - I better start shopping or consider going back to dial-up.
Also, I have dedicated/selected Netscape as my "default" everything works OK on incoming via NS7.0 but if I select NS to a selected wewbsite, I get bumped out with all kinds of "unexpectedly quit' warnings.
I see the digital writings on the wall - - - just trying to set a record with an old 6115 PM from 1994.

I think the problems you describe are just related to the browser, not to AOL. If it's no better using Mozilla, then I guess I'm wrong.
My 1998 vintage G3 is humming right along. I did replace the hard drive a few years back, and the zip drive (probably unnecessarily) a few years before that. But the rest is all "original equipment".

I second, or third, actually, Mozilla like Tom and Al.
I posted a thread a few weeks ago looking for Kelly. He posted back that he was fine, just incredibly busy.

I think the rest of us overlooked the, um, logic, and focused on the problem. Yes, the real reason the browser is not performing has to do with the content of web pages. It gets more "advanced" as new "bells and whistles" are added. That's what leaves a browser's capabilities in the dust bin.
