Got a lovely app that let me have a Christmassy theme to it.
Anyone got the Mail one? Thunderbird?

I tend to use it only on sites where the ads slow loading to a crawl. Adblock is flexible and can be disabled for any site where you actually want or don't mind the extras.

FF wins hands down for me. I been using it for years now. Stable, secure and extensible. The fact that it's multi platform also helps.
My favourite extensions are
1) Adblock, as it removes most of the annoying c**p on the Web
2) Customize Google as it helps prevent Google building a profile of me
3) Browsersync, keeps my bookmarks synchronised over multiple computers and OS's

I use SeaMonkey, another Mozilla product, which is an "all in one" program with both a browser and mail function. Haven't tried Thunderbird, but I really prefer SeaMonkey's mail program to any I've used.
I also use Firefox as my secondary browser if there's a site that SeaMonkey has trouble with.
I am not a great fan of Safari, I prefer the feel of the Mozilla products.
I also use Opera from time to time, it seems to be greatly improved as of late.

I use firefox 2.0.0.11 the vast majority of the time. But I keep Safari on hand for occasional use.
The extensions I use are:
Adblock Plus, Anonymouser, CustomizeGoogle, Fasterfox, Flashblock, FlashGot,NoScript, UserAgentSwitcher, NukeAnythingEnhanced and Stealthier.
Probably too many.
I like firefox because you can really customize t.

Still use Eudora for email, haven't been tempted to use anything else. It works, I know how to use it, so does my wife, etc.
No matter what browser you use, I highly recommend 1PassWord for entering and storing your personal info and passwords.
BTW, I think you can get 1PassWord free for a while! 
And I wouldn't run an email program without SPAMsieve!
As for importing address books, etc., you may have to work at it from the other end. In other words, you may have to search for a way to export that info from your current app in a form that can be used by the new one. Don't know what export capabilities Mail has.
I guess the point is that all these programs have reached a level of maturity that they seldom crash, corrupt your data, etc. So, it comes down to using what you like after making sure they do things the way you want.

The only add on I use with FF is AdBlock. I found all the others blocked too much stuff and I was spending half my net time approving things at site.
Like ABD, I use Eudora for mail. I used Thunderbird for a year or so (mainly because it integrated with the Linux laptop we used), but I finally said to heck with it and went back to Eudora. I know I was able to pull in my addy book and a few things -- but at this point I don't remember how I did it. Sorry.

Aut cpy, Download Manager tweak, DownThemAll, Flashgot, Google Toolbar for FireFox, Wisz RSS News Reader, Yahoo Toolbar, etc. I have to keep Safari as it si the only way when I try to access the internet from say an e-mail URL that I can tell the system that my primary browser is FF!

Because the browser is not what's broken. It's the site's nonstandard use of html, javascript, etc. But they could have made a 'quirks' mode in Safari (which doesn't have one, AFAIK). But that can be a never ending quest to make it work with an almost infinite ways site builders create trash...When FF doesn't work for me, it's usually because I have it too tightly protected against ads, flash, javascript, etc. It's easier to simply startup Safari for that one site.

I am really enjoying Firefox. It can stay on both my Macs. It is well though out and easy to use. A real joy! I will also probably bung it on my partner's iBook sometime over Christmas!
As for the Thunderbird, I gave up.
Also I did add the "oooh" comment about 30 seconds after I wrote the original post, so I am sorry for the confusion! So, Krissel, you are one quick reader!
