The MacBook Air will ship in about two weeks. It lacks an optical disk drive, which could make it tricky to load software. To get around that, Apple developed a program called Remote Disk, which allows users to download software from the optical drive of a nearby computer using its built in 802.11n wireless connection.

I would wait to see how well Remote Disk works! I'll bet loading Adobe CS3 would be far less fun than it is normally. The return of the tech curmudgeon?

It is thin, but it is also curved. That's a major reason cars are designed the way they are. Curved sheet metal is much sturdier that flat sheets. But the extermely thin edges do make me worry, people may end up with slightly less beautiful machines after dropping them on their edges a few times.
