I took some good advice from an expert on this site and ordered Norton Symantec from OWC. It comes 'out of the box', so am I safe in assuming that the download from the CD will have instructions on 'how to' on it?

Hi Fiona.  

It'll be just like any other Software. Pretty self-explanatory.

It will Install all of it's components.

I turned off the Anti-Virus myself.

Unless you have multiple Partitions you may not even want to Install it.

Just Boot from the CD and run Norton Disk Doctor and/or Norton Speed Disk for example.

There's an Update for it. But again, unless you have multiple Partions it won't do too much.
