Title: Anyone else notice this iTunes problem?
Post by: gunug on March 19, 2008, 02:48:52 PM
I'm running 7.5 iTunes under 10.4.11 MAC OS X and invariably when I run a large playlist it will play a song that is one after the one it's pointing to. I know it starts out okay but at sometime in slips up and then (if I let it go to the end) it seems to correct itself and points to the right track when it's the last track. Maybe this is fixed in the next version; it really doesn't bother me I just thought it was interesting!

That's a pretty old version! I've got a disk img of 6.0.5 if you'd like it. I'm using 7.6.1 without problems. Perhaps "using" is not the best word, I "use" it twice a week to burn a disk. And usually delete whatever I burned as soon as the disk cools off!

I'm running 7.6.not yet 1 ... and I don't remember any oddities with 7.5 ... but that was a while back and my sieve for a brain doesn't remember beyond yesterday.

Well, I wouldn't upgrade to 7.6.1 just to fix that, if I were you, John. I finally got around to upgrading to Leopard and the latest iTunes along with it and 7.6.1 refused to see my iTunes Library - no matter what I did. This has happened to lots of people at the Apple forums and the only solution is to downgrade to 7.5. Which I did - easily, since I'd just used Migration Assistant to install everything off the old drive onto the new drive, leaving the Tiger install etc. completely intact in case of disaster.
I hope Apple fixes whatever it is that is broken with 7.6.1 (and some had this problem with 7.6 - which I didn't try, on the principal of "if it ain't broke...") in the next version. But I won't be rushing to be on the bleeding edge with that either!
