Title: Hi all

Hiya Highmac!

Thanks for the welcome back.

Nothing much to report since my last visit (about 18 months ago!)
Had a quick 3 week trip to UK for Christmas 2006 - arranged with 2 weeks notice on one of those cheap charter flights for $AUS690 thanks to my son David in London. Left here Christmas Eve, arrived Gatwick 6am Christmas Day! Then drove to Shrewsbury in time for Christmas lunch. Thought it was my chance to see "real" snow at last but no, just rain & cold. happy.gif

Got myself a bionic left eye lens last Nov to match the bionic hip - a GOOD THING as I now can't even read the screen with the right eye (to be done sometime this year). Can't seem to fix the crappy chest though. sad.gif

This month finally left my comfort zone & changed to an emac with OS 10.3.9 (& Classic 9.2.2 for Word & Photoshop) ... AND ADSL2  cool.gif : pushed rather than jumped - my 9 year ISP (which didn't do ADSL) sold out so had to move anyway.
Still in the process of transferring stuff from the old strawberry imac, specially contacts & bookmarks .. another GOOD THING as it's making me discard 9 years accumulation - contacts, URLs, downloads! Amazing how many old email contacts you look at & think "who on earth was that"?!?
BTW, got the combo drive emac for $AUS150.00 - Presbyterian Ladies College (PLC) here is an all mac school & once a year or so has a sale of superseded equipment .. eg $5 for a legit Photoshop 5 CD with reggo number. The graphite imac, indigo clamshell & white laptop came from there as well - bargain bin for OAPs!  laugh.gif

Still showing cats .. my old style siamese Roxanne took Best Companion Cat 2006 & 2007. Jack the Bengal has retired after winning 4 x Best Desexed Other Shorthair, plus a Reserve Best overall desexed. Trying to breed my young Bengal girl but she's not proving very co-operative to date!

That's about it really for me, apart from a bit of garden work.

Better go & feed the mob (9.58pm here), but "I will return!"  toothgrin.gif

Cheers .. BarbZ

With Macs that cheap it might even be worth a trip down under.....

Nice to have you back!

"I will return!"

Now where else in the Pacific have I heard that...

Welcome back, BarbZ! Sounds like you've been visiting a lot of operating rooms! Are they really all alike? tongue.gif But we're glad things and replacements are working for you!

Speaking of 'cats,' have you ever visited LOLcats? They show more than cats, almost any animal can be found there, but it can usually bring an outright verbal expression of laughter to me, each time I visit.

Welcome back, Barbara from Down Under!

You fleetingly crossed my mind a week or so ago, but I wasn't able to pull either your screen name or real name out of my cobwebby old brain, except for a definite association with cats... I too have been largely if not entirely absent from these parts for a year or so, having returned a month or two ago.
