Just another generation of Intel Chip that is made to be more energy efficient by being smaller and using the element Hafnium in it's construction.

For a while I thought they had a real atom powered pc or so, or a new technology to power them called "atom".
But I was pretty sure that such a technology might not end up in devises like the iPhone first (well there was that rumor at first, but it's now retracted) so I had to dig in a little more to find out it's actually a processor in development :duh:

If the 'power' for a device uses 'atoms' it is usually called 'atomic'.
This version of the chip was rumored to be the cpu comig in the next iPhone. Steve had a one-on-one chat with some heads rolling out of Intel and that rumor was squashed!
Others have said Apple might use it on the proverbial Apple 'tablet.'

Of course, I think Lexis took the track of Intel and Moto with their "Q" "x=number" trash. Yeah, those number name things are real catchy. Or their PR/Naming agents are simply unable to master any spoken language...
