Not too shabby considering the hit the stock has taken.

Yup, they're still 20% off their high 7 months out. RIMM recovered nicely, even bubbled for a bit, but are back where they were in December. U.S. Steel is doing well. Must be all those crushed cars that flooded the market.
I don't see AAPL recovering, I think their on a long hold pattern. There's a lot of dead money out there and Apple has it's share. Maybe $170ish at the end of the year? That's a loss of 15% over last year and if you figure no profit as well, add another 10%. The Alt. Energy stocks have been doing 20%. U.S. steel is doing 14%. All metals are up, Glass stocks are doing well. There's just too many good markets out there to hold onto aapl.

The problem with valuing Apple by the market cap is that it doesn't take into account their cash holdings now approaching $20 billion. Microsoft has about $26 billion and others much less.
Apple may be in a holding period in the short term but the potential in the longer term is quite high. Since the iPhone is being added to profit over a 24 month period the compounding is being missed by many "analysts".
Then again, I'm an investor, not a trader.

Kris, if you got out of retail on Dec 20th as I did, and put your money in a growth stocks, you could return to apple with more money and buy it at a cheaper price. The capitalization apple is enjoying is on the wallets of it inventors. I could buy back it's own stock with it's cash and raise the value of it's stock, as Exxon is doing now. Apple is sitting on a mountain of cash at your expense. IMO

Then, too if I hadn't sold off the bus load of Apple back in 05 I wouldn't have to worry about any of this as I'd be sitting on a pile of dough even at 155. 20/20 hindsight doesn't help.
Apple is not going to buy back stock. They will use it to buy other companies and technology to further R&D. They aren't into the ruse of artificially raising stock price but are more concerned with future development.
I don't mind waiting a couple years to reap any benefits. It's just my luck that as soon as I sell stock it goes on a tear upwards.

Their new hitch to at&t isn't going to help matters, that's for sure.
