Title: Best Buy Sales down more than 6%
Post by: Gregg on November 12, 2008, 07:01:35 PM
The news on one of those major broadcast networks, you know, the ones that only give you sound bytes, wink.gif reported declining sales for Best Buy. The report went on to say that consumer spending in general is way down. Of course, this is just the continuation of recent trends.

The latest info on Apple's sales that I turned up in a brief search is from the 2nd Quarter. I've been wondering how much traffic our local Apple Stores are getting. There could be lots of room under the old Christmas Tree this year!

Apple can not compete in price wars, they will not gain much market share in this economic climate. They do have a dedicated customer base to sustain them but it's unlikely they would expand. Of course if the rest of the computer industry fails they could pick up the slack. wink.gif

Well, Intel just downsized their outlook for the 4th quarter and tech stocks in general took a dump after hours. You'll see the carnage more when the market reopens on Thursday.

Despite that, there are a lot of people reporting very busy Apple stores. Thing is, are they just looking or buying?  Thinking.gif

Maybe instead of giving cash this Xmas I'll give iTunes or Apple gift certificates.

Is that kosher?  wink.gif
