I've had my iPhone for almost a month now. What a great tool it is! Of course, the apps that we put on the iPhone are what makes it such a great tool, and that's why I have started this thread.
Searching the apps store can be a daunting experience. There are multiple apps for just about all categories. I've spent hours going through the apps lists and I have a few that I find useful. I thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can share our favorite apps whether they are free or paid.
Here's my favorites so far:
- AroundMe (helps find businesses from your immediate location)
- Google Mobile App (the usual Google search engine that will get better when the voice feature is included)
- SayWho-Dialer (tell your iPhone to call someone in your Contacts list... no dialing!)
- Shazam (identifies recorded music)
- Propina (simple tool for figuring a tip)
My son told me about "Budget" that he finds useful to track his spending. I got it but I haven't found much use for it so far.

- Rotary Dialer - A must have for making calls in front of other cell phone users!
- Flashlight - Used it just last Saturday night when the power went out! Helped me find the full-sized one.
- Dial Zero - All those 'shortcuts' to get around the "Please press 9 for further ways to remain on hold." Must be a hundred companies listed.
- Bible - The whole Bible in 14 English versions plus 19 other languages!
- CannonGame from Discovery - Just for the shear pleasure of irritating anyone near you!

2. VCard Mailer, which let's me e-mail contacts
3. iTalk, a voice recorder
4. Bloomberg Financial

CannonGame is fun! I'm not very good at it yet, however. I looked at iWant and it looks like one of those apps like AroundMe. There are so many "nearly identical" apps it's hard to decide which one to get. Fortunately, a lot of them are free or very inexpensive so it's just a matter of trying them out.
Google Mobile has been updated to use voice commands and it works really well.

You have a lot of business apps. I have iTalk but I haven't used it much yet. I thought I might use it remember things I need to do. Pano looks like fun. I have StereoMaker which makes a stereo picture. I don't think I'll do much with it.
My son likes Budget to track his spending. I decided to give it a try but I still haven't used it much. My credit union has mobile banking and it works pretty well with the iPhone. I can make transfers and payments just as easily as using my home computer.

Just learned that by holding the 'period' key when writing in Mail, you can access the 'net, edu, org and the com' suffixes for addresses/urls. Kind of a tap & hold; once for the period and a press and hold for the sufix pop-up.

Best one for me so far is Remote for both the phone and Touch. Allows you to use either as a remote control when you are streaming iTunes to another room via Airport Express. And you can 'see' what you're playing. Access the library and choose your music by remote.
And GoogleEarth though, of course, the Touch relies on having a wifi connection to the net.
Holding it in front of the iMac doesn't give the best results, photowise, but you get the idea

Thanks for providing the "Remote" link. I have heard about it and I just added it to my tiny cache of free apps I have collected in anticipation of getting an iPhone.

Free app (also has a $3 Pro version) that lets you type an email in landscape instead of portrait mode. Also uses "pinch/squeeze" to change the displayed text size and provides access to "&" and many 'international symbols.' And, did I mention the price? There's not one!

Pandora Radio Plays with or without wireless connection continuous music in many genres.
GasBag Pro Helps to locate fueling stations/prices and keeps a record of your gas/diesel purchases and mileage.
Movies Check the local theaters for movies and reviews.
