I installed it on my 667 dvi powerbook and have had no problems whatsoever. course I don't have much plugged into it and I only have apps like Photoshop Elements and DreamweaverMX, but they run fine.
From what I can gather, 10.2.6 is especially for those who have had kernel panics due to USB hubs and such. What I would do is download the installer (combo or whatever) for 10.2.5 and try 10.2.6. If it doesn't work, downgrade. Or..you could just stick with 10.2.5 until 10.3 comes out. You probably aren't missing anything with 10.2.6...
Oh wait...yeah..I forgot...it gives you the secret to life.

Kind of doubt if OSX2.6. has any bearing on why IE seems to 'stall' more often than when I had OSX2.5. but I haven't ruled that out just yet. Other than that, can't tell any difference.

Hehe..IE? Wow..I so rarely, if ever, use that one. Safari and Camino are sooo much better. And now Firebird is coming along nicely.
I just hope that MS doesn't update IE to look like IE6 for Winblows..course I still won't use it.

"Hehe..IE? Wow..I so rarely, if ever, use that one. Safari and Camino are sooo much better."
As far as I'm concerned "Safari" is a bad browser in its present stage. Perhaps later ... maybe it will catch up to IE in any aspect of features.
Could be that "Safari" just doesn't sit well with my 'puter but three computers? Yeah Right.
To make such a blanket statement JK as if the whole world sees your point of view as the gospel is totally inept.
Your opinion is fine. I listen/read others opinions but when someone tries to shove their opinion down anyones throat as if -this is how it is- BS .... then right off the negative mode sits in.
Been reading some good reports about Camino. Camino I haven't tried yet.Think I've a copy stashed somewhere even.

I upgraded to 10.2.6 on my DP 800 without problem and all continues to be fine and dandy. I have IE 5.2.2 and that is too is quite fine, but since moving to Safari Beta 2, I now only use IE in those rare cases where a site is Safar adverse.

Whoa...hey man, chill out. Re-read my post and tell me where it says that the whole world sees my point as gospel. Come on...please..show me. Better yet..quote me.
Can't find it? Oh..yeah. Reason why you can't find it is because that was my opinion.
Here...check this out: ehe..IE? Wow..I so rarely, if ever, use that one. Safari and Camino are sooo much better. And now Firebird is coming along nicely.

(emphasis added by me)
See the I's in that paragraph in italics up there? That's what is commonly refered to as the first person. Nowhere in that paragraph any mention of "seeing my point of view (which is, after all, my opinion!) as the gospel". Nor is there any mention about how my opinion should be shoved down anyone's throat.
Oh, and what features would be missing from Safari that IE has? Safari is still a beta so give it time...IE has had several years in which to implement what it has. Except for pop-up ads blocking...they really need to add that.
Happy Sunday..hope the rest of your day goes better. Next time don't be taking it out on me!

And don't force me to edit again. You know the accepted behavior on this board.

"Safari and Camino are sooo much better"
So tell me JK .. you're saying "Safari" - "are sooo much better" due to your own opinion or what then?
Sure isn't the way I read it.
You have a good day also.

In my opinion, for what I use Safari for (browsing), yes, I would have to say, in my opinion, that it is better than Internet Explorer. Granted, there may be some sites out there that display better on IE, or Safari may not display some sites...but for what Safari offers over IE (tabbed browsing, pop-up blocking, and quickness...+ the fact that Apple has put it out instead of MS {yes, I'm one of those Apple-lovers..sorry}).
Well..if you disagreed with me, then the best way to respond would have been something more like this: "I'm sorry to disagree..but" - then give why you would disagree or "I disagree..and here's why.."
Instead of coming off so harshly..which was unwarranted in my opinion. Even had I originally posted this: "Hey...here's what I think of Safari and why my opinion is the best!" or something along those lines...a harsh-worded attack such as yours would still be beneath you Bill.

I don't want to know that! It would take all the fun out of it.
Hey! What about Netscape!!!!!!

Hey! Who said anything about guiting smoking? I had to go jet for some of those cancer boys is all.
What I typed/said stands.
How you came off [in my eyes] was a negative towards anything other than your browsers-of-choice.
Just as below will be my browsers-of-choice.
Granted IE isn't the greatest.Fact is I wish NS hadn't given away their family roots. I was a diehard NS person till they went the low road. Even their newsiest version leaves much to be desired.
I've tried and still am giving Safari a once/twice etc over. For me the speed of safari isn't there. Perhaps I have something wacky going on with my (plural) systems.?. All the other features are fluff for the exception of the taps yet I'm not to fond of the tabs either.
Like I mentioned somewhere up there, Safari is not up to snuff just yet. Maybe down the road yes but it's not for me now.
OH YEAH! ((( In my opinion ))) that is.
Now to be a bit on the "harsh" side. I really couldn't care less about the subject of browsers. They're all goofy. As it stands IE is my main of choice. Safari and an outdated NS I use for web manhandling.
Catch that last sentence DB. Especially the manhandling.
Now back on topic.
Gary S. 2.6. works just fine. I was going to suggest give it run on your other drive first.
TOO LATE!

I use Safari and Camino (latest renderings) almost exclusivly. I have Omniweb but it is slow. I deleted everything MS on my puter but PS Elements 2.0 snuck it back on board, oh well! 10.2.6 has worked like a charm for me so I am a happy camper.

No probs here, with 10.2.6, but then again, there weren't any before! I did both the "software update" from the prefs panel, and then downloaded the "combo" updater, and ran that, to get anything the other missed, and there must have been something, 'cause when I tried to run the combo updater first, it said that I didn't have the "necessary" software. . .

As many of you know from previous threads, my advise is to stay away from upgrades especially if you have no problems with the current version. Of course if you have kernal panics due to a USB hub, then you have no choice.

My advice is to check in daily at MacInTouch and see what's up.
See what some people are reporting about the Updates.
Some Updates seem to have very specific Bugs.
The vast majority of Users probably don't have problems.
Kind of on impulse. I erased my other Drive.
Cloned 10.2.2 to it. Everything. And Updated to 10.2.6
This way I can go back if I need to.
So far, so good.

Well. Not much difference. Suddenly USB seems better after all, but I could be imagining this. That Image Capture & scanner problem I sneaked into Tom's thread is resolved for me. I understand that Rainer, who has followed all this but is ultra-busy elsewhere, finally tackled his own Canon scanner problem with VueScan and then got CanoScan Toolbox to work. Costly bugger, VueScan, but probably worth it in view of the glow surrounding it.
Maybe I'd not have gone beyond 10.2.4 had it not been for that disastrous modem issue it had for some. Obviously not MamaMoose. I'm delighted, Tom, to see you so happy in the sandpit after tremendous hassle.
On your Safari issue, did you get to trash the .com.apple.Safari.plist? It really does help.
