Samsung LN55B650 55-Inch 1080p $1999.00

to explain the difference between LED and LCD try this:

I have 2 smaller Samsung (TOF) Touch of Color LCD HDTV's...one is also used as a monitor.
I'm not convinced that the backlighting is such a great improvement and think of it as more of a marketing ploy.

Vizio.. made in Southern California, will be producing a 55 inch LED soon and most likely at a more reasonable cost.

I would suggest that you look at them side by side and take your own measure. wink.gif

Dolphin, I've purchased a Vizio for a client that wanted a made in America TV. It has good reviews across the board, usually in the top three, but also at a fraction of the cost ...of say...a Sony or Samsung. I liked the TV so much I purchased a 32 inch for myself. I bought it directly from Vizio and it was plug and play. I couldn't find a problem and it looks no different that the 32 inch Samsung that I have. I also think the audio is superior.

This one is LED backlit, 120hz and top notch audio.

If you have a Sam's Club near you the 55 inch TV is $1497.00 + tax
