After a week of running Entourage X, it suddenly decides to be a problem. Twice in one day, it refused to quit. I had to Force Quit to shut it down.
Any ideas what's going on?
One MacFixIt, someone posted a similar question. It looked like Norton firewall had something to do with it. Well, I don't have any Norton software on my computer.
OS X has some type of firewall and my computer is connected to a router that supposedly has some type of firewall. I can't imagine that being the problem when Entourage worked so well for about six days straight.
I have tried rebuilding the Entourage database and I have run Disk First Aid.

Have you tried to repair permissions? Also, when you try to quit, what happens? I've seen from time to time in OSX, especially with Entourage, where none of the menus at the top will work. (In fact, sometimes they disappear!
) What works for me when this happens is to click the yellow button in the middle to send it to the dock and then just bring it back up. For some reason all works well after that.

That's what I meant when I said I ran Disk First Aid. I should have said Disk Utility or Repair Permissions.
What I see when I attempt to quit Entourage is, the window disappears but the icon on the Dock still shows that the application is active. When it gets like that, it just stays that way until I Force Quit.

I've seen that a time or two--not just with Entourage. Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions for you--but have managed to
you back up to the top for others to take a crack at your problem. Being that it's only happened to me a couple of times, I just assumed it was the gremlins playing around as they do from time to time.
