Title: iPhone 3.1 firmware released today
Post by: Al on September 10, 2009, 02:01:43 AM
New firmware was released today for the iPhone, ver. 3.1.

Just a heads up that some people have been having problems after the upgrade and the fix was to upgrade and then set up your iPhone as new and not to restore from a back up.

Anyone wanna try it?  I already downloaded the ipsw file, but, am gonna wait a while.  Til the smoke clears....wink.gif

I just upgraded to OS 3.1 for my iPhone 3GS. I also upgraded to iTunes 9. Everything went flawlessly. The big news that I could now rearrange my app icons on the phone so that my most critical ones were on the first app page. The  other 38 or so were organized aplphabetically on each of the next 4 pages. The kast page contained the games - my favorite is the Monster pinball (idle hands ..... rolleyes.gif ).

The iTunes upgrade was OK but nothing startling.

I just attempted to reorganize the apps on my iphone using iTunes and it didn't take when I hit Apply. Then I figured out why...

It helps to keep your hands off the phone while the sync process is going on. Thinking.gif

Al, the firmware update was available on the mainland yesterday... but you islanders are so laid-back, you probably didn't notice.   whistling.gif

I upgraded as soon as it was released and while I haven't had a chance to ply with the new features (I'm particularly interested in the Bluetooth voice control) my iPhone wasn't hosed by the update, so It's All Good.
