I take offense at that remark! Very judgmental and totally uncalled for!
I hardly ever miss a nail, even though I stand with my back to it and use two mirrors, strategically placed, and use a five-pound sledge hammer! So, there!
You're probably right, as usual, I was just doing the repairs for another reason and noticed the improvements. BTW, Apple still claims that those maintenance scripts get run regardless of how long the computer is off or whether it is asleep or not. Of course, none of this happens until you turn it on or wake it up. I only let the Screen 'sleep' since I have the Folding@home processes running.
There are still some who don't believe Apple made this change back in 10.4.5 (I think), but I suspect that one reason is that OnyX, etc. still supply this function and many assume that it still needs to be done manually, if the machine is OFF during those preset o'dark thirty times.
