It has been a long, sometimes difficult road from our wild and crazy first days. But the people we have met along the way and the knowledge we all have gained is something not fully appreciated until you think about what if we hadn't taken that chance...

Seriously, I've had so much help and support - not just in the matter of Macs - from this forum that I feel honoured to be part of it. Thanks to all the founders, including absent friends, for launching it, and for all the long-time admins who have kept it going through thick and thin.

) Haven't had my tea yet...GaryS introduced me to TS - we'd both been frequenting the MacFixit Lounge, which had been going downhill at the time and he said TS was a much friendlier community, and he was right! And it is a real community - some of you I've known for 10 years now and a few for longer, if you came from MF. Many of us may have never met face-to-face, but as well as helping each other out with Mac problems, we've shared so much more; joys and sorrows over family events, discussions about the world in general, recommendations for books and music, recipes, jokes and funny stories, advice on all manner of purchases tech, web site and book design... and I'm sure I'm forgetting things! We've sent technical equipment and software across the globe to our fellow TS-ers; I'll never forget the day in Sept. 2001 when I waited in line with a whole bunch of other OS X enthusiasts for 10 copies of OS 10.1 which was released on disk at Apple stores only (at first, anyway - can't remember whether it was ever downloadable later...) and sent them out to all my TS friends in Sweden, France and all over the US because they had no access to an Apple store!

Strolling down memory lane for me... I've been here since late September 2002. I was on the Everymac Forums getting help from people like Mayo and E, and I do think that it was Mayo who pointed me towards TS. I wasn't really very active at first, but that's certainly changed
Struggling mightily with the earlier operating systems of 8x, 9x, and then finally making the transition to OSX in Panther, thanks to the great advice and counsel here at TS.
And having both received a lot of help, and been able to give a little bit now and then, I'm humbled to be a part of this great group of folks. From working together with Krissel over getting a computer to Mrs. Lop, to helping out as a moderator (at least most of the time, I'm helping...
) it is truly an honor to be part of this online community. And a big thanks to Paddy, who brought my website into the real world!
Here's to another 10 years!
And to my fellow moderators/admins, you rock!!!

Congratulations to those who worked so hard to get this site going and all who have helped keep it growing in friendship and knowledge! A special thanks for the Admins who are sometimes castigated for their "bad" decisions and very rarely for their "good" ones.
The rest of us are sheltered from the machinations that go on behind the scenes that keep this place the best Help Site on the web!!!

I have met a great number of wonderful people here at TS over the years. From coast to coast and around the world...
TS has been the source I have always counted on when ever a tech. problem rears its head.
I feel honored to be included with the wonderful group of Admins who keep all things TS moving along smoothly (we hope).
10 years..... Wow, seems like only yesterday.... Continued success to us all.

Reading those older threads was fun, but made me realize how some very special folks no longer visit. I do miss them, but I'm glad I got to "know" them.

And of course, I have to say hello and thanks to RHP and Harv--who spent a significant amount of time with me off-line about a million years ago telling me that the world wouldn't come to an end if I took the plunge and upgraded my good old sage iMac to this crazy thing called OSX. (I think I still have all of their upgrade instructions, back-up instructions, and info on how to partition that huge 20 gig hard drive!)

I share Kimmer's stated regrets (which I speculate may be on many people's minds, today) about all the splendid folks who, for a variety of reasons, have moved on. It would be so very nice to have a few "Homecoming" posts from them.
Now that the exigencies of age, I note with regret, have limited my mobility, the continuing contacts with TeeEssers that grace these pages (involving countless e-mails and over-the-back-fence iSightings and iChats), go a long way to rationalize the excesses of the web and its manifold iterations, helping to distill from it the best of knowledge, information and amusement, thus rendering limited mobility as a less than major problem.
As Paddy mentions, people I've never "met" became genuine pals, pulling together to help others in circumstances "outsiders" could probably never imagine, ranging from illness, tragic deaths, the needs of a selfless volunteer for a computer upgrade, to travel advice, recipes, and the regular "international" celebrations of birthdays and anniversaries! All embellished by imaginative and talented banner artists (like today's "offering!). And on, and on.
Yet the truth needs to be again proclaimed: the genuine shakers-and-movers of dishere enterprise, who have been around since the beginning, unfailingly and unstintingly sharing their smarts, energy, humor (ooops humour), wisdom and compassion are Krissel and Paddy. The debts accumulated by this volunteer endeavor to their good nature and intelligence are, indeed, large and extensive. We all have been blessed that they "showed-up and stayed" .
Thank you, Ladies, for services and friendship beyond measure.

TS has helped me with a few computer problems, but more than that I am thankful for the online friends I have collected here. Special thanks to RHP for allowing me to become a member of our esteemed Midwest Caucus.

I got here around 2000. It is a wonderful place.
I hope I have more time, to stop by more often, I can't believe it's been 10 yrs!
