Title: .ppt document, out of memory
Post by: jb on October 13, 2010, 09:19:13 PM
iMac Intel i3 21.5" OS 10.6.4, 500 GB HD, 4 GB Memory. (Windows not installed)

I just received a .ppt document. Usually such a document opens OK with Keynote.
This one however fails to open, and the following window opens:

Is the "Out of memory" in my Keynote app. or in the original document?

Is there a way to increase the amount of memory in my Keynote app?

You can't increase the amount of memory allocated to Keynote.

I suspect there may be some corruption in the .ppt file.

Suggest you download & install NeoOffice - it's an office suite like M$ Office. http://download.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php It's free/donationware. You can open .ppt files & generate .ppt files

jb:  over the years we have used MS office and Powerpoint quite a bit.  I do not know the difference between a .ppt and .pps  file but on a rare occasions a ppt file would not open in Office and simply changing the tag to .pps solved it.   No experience with keynote.  YMMV
