If a ship sends out a signal, it shows up. You can see pleasure craft on lakes, tankers in the ocean, fishing vessels, etc. Really interesting. Right now if you look at my area you will see nothing. Why? Because the bar is still closed due to the high surf danger. Weird.

BTW, kimmer, are you the one that left the freezer door open and caused the snow in Portland?

Cool, I do have another local site which tells us what is going thru the CapeCodCanal and thru Woods Hole passage. But I dont use/listen to it much. My brother does. Cleveland Ledge Lighthouse is for sale and more interesting stuff about our area, included is a wonderful article in our local paper about our Lift Railroad Bridge over the CCCanal. Too much for me to list here, and its boring for anybody who doesnt live here anyway, but its FUN! If you have the time to listen/look. Jane

Thanks for reminding me. I thought I was defrosting the freezer and instead set the temp higher. Mix that with all this rain we are having, and well ... Portland got dusted.

I'm sure that there must be "far more" ships out there than is shown on the maps! Please close the freezer door; they're talking about a hard freeze here tonight!
