What was also in that folder were 192 files, mostly Microsoft PPS, XLS, and a few PDF,s. average file size was about 3megs. This was stuff that must have gone back to the first time I used Mail. 
I was not even aware that folder existed and evidently when I trash the email's that have attachments the attachment file(S) continue to reside here. Recovered almost a half a gig by dumping them.

Well it IS selected. I did not check to see when the last ones I trashed were dated, so I must have selected the "remove" somewhere down the line.
I just looked at my wife's PB and it had a bulging 424 files. Over a gig. "Remove" now selected on all of em now.
