Title: Slowest broadband in UK
Post by: Highmac on January 25, 2011, 02:04:27 AM
Want to watch a film? Download in just two days. Download speed of 0.13Mb.....

Bet they'd even be envious of Frances biggrin.gif

QUOTE
Railway Hill in Kent has really hit the buffers.
Groaner.gif "A pun is its own reword."

I suspect the problem is either a kink in the wires or a badly bent interwebs pipe! Certainly a clog somewhere! Call the interweb plumbers!!! yes.gif

OTOH, I recall a secretary claiming that the download of QuickTime would take several hours. Then she showed me the dialog she would get at the request to download. Sure enough, that is what the dialog said...for at least the first few seconds! Sure enough, letting the download actually proceed allowed the estimated time continually decrease, exponentially, until it stabilized at a few minutes. wallbash.gif rolleyes.gif

Ahem!

Though tbh our broadband speed is steam driven at times and it keeps turning itself off.  Very aggravating.

But Frances, I'm sure you recall from basic physics that electrical signals travel slower across a channel of water than land. You might want to see if there is a service offering air-delivered interwebing? dntknw.gif tongue.gif

Just returned to let you know I signed that petition! What a horrendous name those "developers" came up with!!! rolleyes.gif
