Hi,
I am confused about what all I need to go wireless. I have an iMac 600, 256MB, 10.1.5
I live in a little town that just got an ISP a few years ago. Ancient phone lines and only connect a 26400. No providers for DSL. Can Airport Extreme help me? What all do I need? Card, base station, antena????????
Please anyone, help me with any info.
Thanks!

luvs2fish. Hello. Welcome to the Forum. smile.gif

Airport, Extreme or not won't help you.

It is a way to not have wires on your Network.

You would still connect on Dialup.

You might consider a Satellite ISP.

Costs a lot more and I don't know what's available.

Worth it to you? smile.gif

welcome.gif  to TS, luvs2fish.

Kelly is right in that you are confusing Airport which is to allow for wireless within a home or building with the ability to get wireless internet. You aren't the only one who makes that mistake so don't worry.  oops.gif .

Here's someone else who had a similar problem recently..

Satellite?

After you read what's on that page, go to dslreports to read up on all kinds of connection options. It will give you an idea of where you stand and what you have to look forward to in the future. Don't fret, you aren't the only one who is stuck with pokey dialup. Many of us here at TS are too.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to wait a little longer. Man, I can't believe how expensive satellite is.
