Title: Apple G4 Powermac
Post by: sokukodo on June 23, 2003, 06:03:59 PM
Well ... the day my G4 1.42 DP ships ... out comes the G5! that's ok ... maybe in a few more years I'll "upgrade" ...
This is my new system (replacing a Summer 200 SE DV iMac):
1.42 DP PowerMac
20" Cinema Display (it's already arrived! WOW!)
2 Gb RAM
Radeon 9700 Pro card
M-Audio Revolution 7.1 audio card (arrived)
Cambridge SoundWorks Megaworks 2.1 sound system (arrived)
iPod (30 GB)
I've confirmed to all my PC friends that I'm "Still crazy after all these years"! ("Why so much money!?) ... they just don't get it.  rolleyes.gif

Thanks, guys ...  biggrin.gif ... I just hope Apple doesn't abandon G4 users now that the G5 is out ... I've noticed on Apple's web site that the G4 DP tops out at 1.25 GBs ... they've apparently have dropped the 1.42.

That sure sounds like a wonderful system to me. For sure it screams past anything I use and no doubt it will serve you well for many years. With all the bays and expanability you have, it may be years before you feel the "lust" again.

Since it is only the towers that have the G5, everything else being G3 or G4, your DP will be supported for a long time. Not to worry, just enjoy!
