Title: Drawers Won't Stay Put...
Post by: Dreambird on July 05, 2003, 04:28:47 PM
I've always used DropDrawers on both the Lombard and the Pismo w/o problem... but suddenly on the Lombard the drawers won't stay where I put them. I have them on the left side of the screen lined up in a strip... things like sleep mode and even just opening one sometimes makes them move... still on the left but out of position, and often one covering another.

Tried trashing the preferences... any other ideas anyone?

Thnx... smile.gif

What making fun?

I'm not in 9 at the moment so I assumed one can trash the sleep prefs also.

You're right... sorry 'bout that! I couldn't find anything called "sleep" or such but I guess it would be the "Energy Saver Preferences"...

Worth a try... I'll let ya know... smile.gif

Also I don't own droopydrawers so there is no way I could test it myself.

Well, I recently lost some weight and I was hoping you 'guys' could help me with a similar problem: I don't usually wear a belt when wearing my 'work' pants, but I'm having trouble keeping them up now.

Where are those 'prefs' things that will help this problem? And how does trashing them help with keeping drawers in place?! jawdrop.gif Or should I just get more sleep?! Devilish2.gif

OoooooKay!! I can see I started something here...  rolleyes.gif

DropDrawers seriously is giving me a problem on the Lombard, but the PB's new owner isn't worried if he can't use the program, isn't hooked on it like I am... myself, I can't do w/o it.

As for droopy drawers, well that's a whole 'nother thing... tongue.gif

Geeesss DB. Hope you didn't hand over the keys without finding the problem?

Whether the new owner isn't worried or is, isn't really the issue.

Don't worry Bill... I'm not that irresponsible... wink.gif the newer owner is my ex, we're on friendly terms so I can get time to work on the Lombard...

I have it here today... so yes, if anyone has any ideas please let me know... smile.gif

Now, now, Bill . . . nono.gif

DB

Before she went to X, Kris was a big fan of DropDrawers, as I recall. I could be wrong, but if anyone knows that utility well, she'd be the candidate I'd recommend.

(As I recall she took some abuse from Bill when she mentioned it/them, too!)  taped.gif

Yup... it was Krissel that suggested the program to me and I've been sold on it since...

S'Okay... we "all" know Bill is trouble, and I was feeling goofy yesterday... I kinda figured that subject line was asking for it...  Devilish2.gif

*LOL** Well, I dunno Bill... d'ya think it might affect what type of new monitor for the PC he promised as part of the payment for the Lombard I end up with?

I can just see it now... some little 12" black and white job...   wacko.gif

Still and always a fan of DD.  biggrin.gif

I'm in 9 for the most part these days, only using X when at my folks or if I fire up the PB (rarely). I can't live without DD and paid for the X version even though I don't much get a chance to use it.

Haven't had a similar problem so I'm kind of at a loss as to what to suggest that hasn't already been mentioned.
I keep all but one of my drawers on the right side so they are less likely to be accidentally opened when using other apps. I only have a process drawer on the left down by the control strip.

I don't know how many drawers you have or how large they are when open but I have 19 on the right side. Each does overlap the others of course if open, but the tabs have only a few letters on them to keep them as small as possible and just fit nicely up the side.

The only thing vaguely in that problem category is my CopyPaste on the PB. The pop open window widget will never stay in the location to where I move it. Upon restart it always goes back to the left side of the screen and I have to move it over to the right side every time. I just got used to it and move it when I have to. Annoying, yes, but I live with it. Doesn't give me that problem on the 9600, though if I move it too far to the right it disappears over to the second monitor which is usually off.   rolleyes.gif

Cute pic Bill...  B)

Krissel... I dunno know either, stumped for now! I removed the whole program and I'll try re-installing it when I get the chance, maybe a newer version and see if something does the trick. I have never had this happen so it's a first...  huh.gif
