Today my wife and I celebrate 42 years of marriage. That year, the high temp was 10°, and we stood in the snow banks for photos, then that night it got down to -40° (temp, not wind chill). Yep, northern Minnesota wedding in the dead of winter. Where else?
In the mean time we have moved 28 times, traveled in most states except Alaska, and five in the northeast. We adopted two boys. Now we have a wonderful daughter-in-law, five delightful, loving grandchildren, and one great grandson.
God has been good. Thank you, Lord.

Shades of Gray,
Congratulations on your 42 years of marriage!
And it sounds like you have a wonderful family.
Keep up the good life!

Congratulations! My wife and I recently celebrated our 45th. To paraphrase Henny Youngman, I have been in love with the same woman for 45 years. If my wife ever finds out, she'll kill me...

I'm too young for this forum... Only been married 31 years last month!
God bless us and our spice, too!

Let me add my own words of congratulation. Wilda and I will have 60 years this August. Ir's been great! Three children, seven grandchildren, and six greats (so far).
I was listening to a Zig Ziglar audio CD this morning. Whenever he refers to his wife, he calls her "The Redhead." In today's session he said, "If The Redhead ever decides to leave me, I'm going with her."
Well said!

Congratulations! May your commitment grow along with your love for each other!

Congratulations on your anniversary! Wow, you have done a lot of moving around, but you at least have a good idea of what this country has to offer. And you have a lot to be proud of with your family.
My Dad's favorite reply to people who were amazed at the longevity of their union was:
"Yep, we've been together for 45 happy years. Not bad for a 69 year marriage."

Many blessings to Mr. and Mrs. Shades of Gray. What a wonderful testimony!

Congratulations on such a long and happy marriage. May you have many years more

Shortly before their golden wedding, my father was asked how they would celebrate. He quipped: "You don't celebrate a life sentence" followed by "ouch" as a teatowel was flicked round his ear by Mum (who was laughing along with the rest of us).

Thanks everyone. Day was quiet (I work from home, so makes it easier). Then we worshiped at midweek Lenten service (and as pastor I did have to preach, too!). Good day all around.
Krissel, when people ask about the number of moves, I have started saying, “Well, every time I decided to move, she came along. Can’t seem to get rid of her.”
-
And Henny Youngman (or was it Rodney Dangerfield?) told of the time his wife had a mudpack. "For three days, she looked great. Then, the mud fell off."
