I don't entirely agree that "Apple is great" just that the way their product still works is better than the way Window 7/8 works or some other products work. They way it's not easily repairable and hence not near as good a value is another matter entirely. I don't own Apple stock directly but one of my mutual funds has some so it's good from that viewpoint. If they were to listen to the critics and make things easily repairable instead of disposable and yes, maybe put an SD card slot into an iPAD; the world might be a kinder more intelligent place.
