July 11, 2003 - 00:02 EDT Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 5.1.7, an update to its popular Web browser for Mac OS 8/9. The latest version resolves security vulnerabilities in previous versions of Internet Explorer. Microsoft recently released IE 5.2.3 for Mac OS X. Thanks to Scott Johnson for pointing us to the update.

Thanks for the lead. I DL'd a copy from VersionTracker and installed it on my G3/333.
But prior to installation, I moved the old IE Plug-Ins folder to the desktop. Then after the installation was complete, I replaced the new Plug-Ins folder with the one I had saved.
A subsequent run of TTP indictes no problems and all seems normal.

Hey Harv,
I keep the Outlook Express folder inside the Explorer folder and transfer it into the new IE 5.1.7 folder.

I'll run it for a week or so, then trash the old 5.1.3 folder, then search for any old aliases and replace them with updates.
I have everything backed up as usual, twice, so if there is any conflict or missing in action files I can just drag and drop the old 5.1.3 folder with out skipping a beat or an
