Our - Helen and I - thanks to all contributors regarding Helen's "problem".
I (David) am now an expert where taking apart an iMac is concerned.
I must have removed (re-set) the logic board, re-set the CUDA and checked the Battery, about FIVE TIMES!
When nothing changed, I stripped the thing to - BITS!!!
It is now back together.
And, still, the whole thing works - EXCEPT THE CD!
Hmmmmmmpppphh!!!!

We've ordered a new CD Drive.
