Whattadaya mean, Squire Kelly, wherever that is - with emphasis on the that, I presume :

It's in O-H-I-O which means, first off, it's special.

It's an eastern suburb of Cleveland, north of Shaker Heights.

With the first one in Easton, in Columbus' eastern reaches, that make two I know of, gracing the Buckeye  State.

PS: Hey, Dolphin, we gotta keep an eye on this guy. nono.gif

In one of the Travis McGee books. smile.gif

They mentioned some person as being from a Midwestern State that begins with a Vowel.

All I know about Ohio is they grow potatoes.

And are the National College Football Champs. smile.gif

You could drive for a long distance through the midwest without leaving a state that begins with a vowel; they're contiguous.

Edit: Come to think of it, you can do that out west also. And that only leaves Ark., Ala., and Alaska - I think.

We had a great educational card game for our kids (well, we still have it, but have "outgrown" it) called Trip 50. You have to collect cards of states that border on each other so you can take a "trip" (on the ground). You can go to Mexico or Canada (if you have the card), and the state you were born in can "count" anywhere, as a wild card. Once you discard your last non-contiguous state card, you then have to reveal all but the first one until you can name that state's capital city. (a for state, o for federal?)

My last US geography question bombed (no responses), but I'll try another.... Which state(s) have the highest number of common borders with other states? Hint: It's a tie, with 8 contiguous neighbors.

Back on topic.... So, now which state has the highest number of Apple stores. I don't know, but my guess is California.

Also grow tomatoes (Reynoldsburg has a big tomatoe festival each year), (Circleville has the pumpkin festival(last years winning pumpkin weighed 672 lbs.), Millersport has the sweet corn festival (they have had to import corn from Iowa and elsewhere when our crop wasn't worth a diddily doo. So Kelly, there is much to see and do as I am sure there is in Iowa.

Dick, I'll watch Kelly with you.  I've got tickets to the Wisconsin and Penn State games so far.

GO BUCKS

Good, Dolphin:

Kelly needs a lot of help in gaining a proper understanding of the "vowel" states . . . wink.gif  Devilish2.gif

Travis McGee's still in Cedar Key
That's what ol' John MacDonald said
My rendezvous's so long overdue
With all of the things I've sung and I've read
They still apply to me
They all make sense in time

Chorus:
But now I'm incommunicado
Drivin' by myself down the road with a hole in it
Songs with no vibrato
Takin' the long way home

Now on the day that John Wayne died
I found myself on the continental divide
Tell me where do I go from here
Think I'll ride into Leadville and have a few beers
I think of "Red River" or "Liberty Valance"
Can't believe the old man's gone

Chorus:
But now he's incommunicado
Leavin' such a hole in a world that believed
That a life with such bravado
Was takin' the right way home

So when I finished that last line
I put the book by itself on the shelf with my heart in it
Never wastin' time takin' the right way home
I know I'm never wastin' time findin' the right way home . . .

Incommunicado

I'll bet Peter is envious of the growing conditions. smile.gif

It was Chest high by the Fourth of July.

That's everything I know about growing corn.

Get's pretty noisy with it growing so fast. wink.gif

Kelly, if you were about 25 years older, you'd remember the days when . . .

• most corn fields were being planted by machines drawn by horses,
• seed corn was just begining to be hybridized, and
• the phrase was "Knee high by the 4th of July.

And that, despite the top soil being 8 feet deep . . . in McLean County, Illinoi-s in which I was born. biggrin.gif
