Post by: csonni on February 23, 2003, 12:15:00 PM
Does anyone have any idea how to do it?

Csonni, AFAIK, it isn't possible with the standard issue version of Mail. However, some nice person has written Apple Scripts to do all sorts of fun things with Mail, including exporting contacts and messages:

Let us know how they work!

Paddy- I tried the script out, but all the email addresses of my contacts were put in the "notes" sections.  Maybe I set something wrong.

Another program that may work is Mail2Entourage.

Well, these apps were a great help- especially Mail2Entourage.  Made the transfer easy.  Thanks!  Now I've got to decide what I'm going to use as my default email client.  I like the interface of Entourage.

I like Entourage - having been a long-time OE user, I found the transition pretty painless when I switched to X full-time over a year ago. It has lots of nice features and I find things like it's mail filters easy to set up and effective - though I don't get a lot of spam (touch wood    ). It does a number of things Mail doesn't do - like encode files for Windows (which I MUST have, since I deal with a lot of Windoze users  and particularly some on AOL who don't seem to be able to deal with non-MIME-encoded Word files)

With the addition of a few AppleScripts, (the one to sort my groups by last name instead of first being most useful) it has been great.
