Title: How to stop videos from playing all at once
Post by: Gary S on July 29, 2014, 05:13:35 PM
Hello,

I must have checked a button somewhere that I wasn't supposed to.

When I visit a site that has videos on it, they all start playing at once. I had it setup to where I
controlled when to listen to a video but now, as I said, they all start at once.

How do I fix this, where is the preference for this?

I'm using Firefox 31.0, running Mavericks 10.9.4.

Example: If I visit a tumbler page with videos on it, they all start playing at once.

TIA

I had that problem with one site using Safari. I installed Click To Flash and that cured it. Do you have that extension and accidentally deactivated it?

I probably gave you some erroneous advice. AFIK, ClickToFlash is only available for Safari. Launch Firefox and go to the Tools menu, click Add-ons and then click Get Add-ons. Search for Click To Flash and you'll see several alternatives. I don't have any of them so you'll have to test them yourself.

It only seems to start all the videos on Tumbler. If I go to Twitter it's OK. I will check for that plug-in though.

Many website creators add a 'play immediately' tag to their video links. Not many like that behavior, of course, but some web creators don't care... rolleyes.gif
